These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Chesslume at chesslume.com(the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The Service
Chesslume lets you import chess games from Chess.com and Lichess or via PGN upload, replay them, and analyze moves using a chess engine. The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial use to help you study and improve at chess.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure.
- Use automated means to scrape or place excessive load on the Service in a manner that degrades it for others.
- Reproduce, resell, or commercially exploit the Service without our permission.
Third-party content and services
The Service retrieves publicly available games through the Chess.com and Lichess APIs. Chesslume is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Chess.com or Lichess. Your use of those platforms remains subject to their own terms. Trademarks and game data belong to their respective owners.
Intellectual property
Chesslume’s name, design, and original content are owned by us and protected by applicable laws. Chess games and player data you import belong to their respective owners and platforms.
Analysis accuracy
Engine evaluations, move classifications, and accuracy estimates are provided for educational purposes and are approximate. They may differ from other tools or platforms and should not be treated as definitive.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that analysis results will be accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chesslume and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
Advertising
The Service is supported by advertising, including Google AdSense. Ads and any third-party content they link to are the responsibility of the respective advertisers. See our Privacy Policy for details on advertising cookies.
Changes to the Service and Terms
We may modify or discontinue the Service, or update these Terms, at any time. When we update these Terms, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
